Waivers & Forms: Co-author courtesy letter (optional)

Use the following template to let your co-author(s) know that your work is being deposited in SOAR.
Replace the
<bolded> text with your relevant information.

Dear <name of coauthor>,

I’m writing to let you know that I plan to deposit a copy of the peer-reviewed manuscript of our article,
<name of article> in SOAR, the Rutgers University open access repository. As coauthors, we each may exercise rights to deposit the article in an open access repository, and you may also be planning to deposit a version of the same peer-reviewed manuscript in another repository.

The manuscript version deposited in SOAR will be an open access version whereas the article as published in <journal> may not be. The SOAR version will cite the published article and, if possible, also link to it.  Once the article is deposited, you’ll be able to see article-level usage statistics by visiting http://soar.rutgers.edu.

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me.

With best regards,
